Fixed a problem where upload would incorrectly
report upload failure and still continue uploading
This seemed to affect Classic only (OpenTransport)
But the fix has been implemented to monitor this
condition on all OS's

The version checker socket now reports that you have
the current version rather than being silent if your
version is actually bigger than the advertised one.

Made the main window non-composite. This fixes the
problem where the window would go blank on Jaguar.

Special Characters now properly convert on Windows
