Support FAQ

How do I set up an nStream user? You don't. nStream relies on your WebNative user configuration. Once you configure a user for WebNative they will be able access their upload enabled volumes using the nStream application.

When a user logs in I don't see any volumes to upload to, why? This can happen for two reasons. First make sure you have created a volume for this user that is upload-enabled using the WebNative adminstration. If you have also created a custom nStream configuration file, you will want to verify that the path information and format are correct. See the Administration guide for more info.

When browing in the upload pane nStream only shows folders on the WebNative server, why? This is the expected behavior. This allows an administrator to set up a generic WebNative user that they can use for multiple customers. The WebNative volume for such as user would be a generic upload folder. By hiding files, once client cannot see the files previously uploaded by another client.

How do I enable a user to download file using nStream? Downoading capabilities only available in nStream Pro and are disabled by default. To enable download capabilities you will need to create a nStream confuration file on your WebNative server. Please see the nStream Administration guide for how to customize nStream actions.

Can I use nStream to transfer file to an FTP server? No. nStream currently only transfers files to and from a Xinet WebNative server.
